LADIES ANCIENT ORDER OF HIBERNIANS

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is an Irish Catholic organization for women dedicated to the principles of friendship, unity, and Christian charity.

In following the spirit of our motto; LAOH Division 1, Newport, Rhode Island is offering two financial scholarshiops to a qualifying young woman currently attending a Rhode Island or Massachusetts  Catholic high school and who will be entering grade 10, 11 or 12 in the fall of this coming school year. The winner will be awarded a $1500 and the runner up will be awarded $750 for tuition this full.

 

Applications must be received no later than July 1st 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Scholarship applications will not be accepted prior to 1 April 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

​

  • Applicants must be referred by a member in good standing of the Dennis E. Collins, Ancient Order of Hibernians or the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians of Newport.

  • Submission of a completed scholarship application package after May 1 2024 and on or before July 1st, 2024

  • Applicants must provide evidence of academic success, report card and list of extracurricular activities

  • Applicants must provide evidence of school and/or community service

  • Applicants must provide answers to the six application questions
